Go to Tools Write-N-Cite; Download the default Write-N-Cite 4 for Mac or Windows; For Windows select 32 Bit or 64 Bit depending on which version of Word you have. (In Word click on File/Help to see which version you have). Close Word before installing. If you have trouble with the default download, see Installation Troubleshooting. Am I running 32-bit or 64-bit Office?

When installing ProQuest for Word you need to know what platform (32-bit or 64-bit) that you're running. Here's how to see the platform (and version) you're using.

In Office 2013 and 2016

  • Open an Office Word.
  • Click File > Account.
  • Click About Word.

In Office 2010

  • Open an Office Word.
  • Click File > Help.
  • Under About Microsoft Word the version is listed with the platform.
Write-N-Cite for Mac:

RefWorks Citation Manager (Mac)
Write-N-Cite is not available for Word 2016 for Mac. Instead, please use RefWorks Citation Manager. It's available to install directly into Microsoft Word via the Microsoft Word Store.
